Very good strides and end good engineering!
I bought this from Amazon on 2008 Christmas time and it took just 2 '/2 hours to install it without any issues.

The Schwinn 460 is really an amazing machine better than my previous one (even that one was good as well) surely Schwinn designers and engineered to it's capacity and have proved it to be good in many aspects from mechanical to electronics.

Nice.
I purchased my Schwinn 460 Variable Stride Elliptical a couple months ago, and it is one nice machine. Explaining to a visiting friend how it works, he couldn't understand how it adjusts to your stride without some sort of adjustment to the machine, so I simply stepped on and showed him. It's truly that simple, you stride longer and the elliptical keeps up, shorten your stride and it adjusts. It's a brilliant little piece of design and engineering.

Love it
I love my recent purchase of the Schwinn variable stride elliptical. It was fairly simple to assemble and has allowed a short legged person ease in transferring my exercise regime from a treadmill to an elliptical. I work up a great sweat and heartrate in 25 minutes without any back or knee pain. I highly recommend it. Not as expected--think Gazelle for 1000 dollars
This piece of equipment is well built and sturdy. the screen is fine and has good programs to choose from. The big downside is that I purchased this expecting the arms and legs to be attached to the resistance flywheel but they aren't. Meaning the way these are build is that the pedals have an arched CAM and as you pedal foward in a small adjustable radius you are basically pedalling a bike while standing. then as you increase the radius-(eliptical stride) the pedals then float out further from .... Brilliant execution, disappointing concept
This is a difficult review to write because I really wanted to like this machine - there are so many good things about it. The construction is awesome, consisting of heavily overbuilt steel tubing with bronze and steel bearings on all moving parts (way outclassing any machine in its prices point), it's well engineered, everything fits well and works smoothly, it's rock solid in operation, etc. This is really a well engineered and well executed machine.
